Oh kidlettes! Still no snow here in Chicagoland.  What sort of Christmas-time is this?  Ok, I suppose it IS still ten days until the official start of winter, but I expected more from you, weather.  Listening to Leon and Zooey sing "Baby, It's Cold Outside" just doesn't have that same zing without a bit of the frigidy.

well, dear FAF, we have no snow either. . .

but. . .

it is VERY cold! below freezing (which ismcold for London town)

and, guess what? in honour of this coldness, this morning
I awoke to a power cut (which, I believe, on your side of the pond is called an outage)

I checked all the fuses in the box and determined that it was nothing to do with my house. . ..

Mini-Teen used her phone to access the internet (all the other gadgets in the house using broadband which wasn't working as there was no power) (thank goodness M-T's phone was charged) and discovered that the whole area had no power (such is the power of Tweets)(quite why she is on Twitter, I don't know)

fortunately I have a gas hob, so you'll be pleased to know I was able to boil some water in a pan and make M-T her thermos of tea (which she takes on the bus) (you'll be interested to know)

anyhoo

blaa blaa blaa

sorry, rattling on!

so, no snow in Chicago then!

x
