JERRY’S BASEMENT (COMPLETE WITH SPIDER) TRIUMPHS IN SCHAUMBURG, IL

Monday, January 12, 2009

For immediate release:

Chicago City Limits
Schaumburg, IL
January 9, 2008

On a cold, snowy Friday evening in Schaumburg, IL, Jerry’s Basement managed to heat up the night with their eclectic mix of rock and roll classics and almost forgotten musical gems. The band, cobbled together from such historic Chicago-land bands as The Nobody’s, Bangkok Shock and Mama’s Dirty Secret, consists of Rimshot’s vocals, the guitar duo of Cujo, a.k.a. Jerry (presumably the bands namesake) and Spider St. Valentine, with the rhythm section of "The Colonel" Dan on bass and Danny's metronomic drums rounding out the quintet.

If you’re hoping for another rendition of Mustang Sally or the latest Nickleback release, you’ll have to look elsewhere. The band has woven together a set of covers that are instantly recognizable and utterly enjoyable, including such rarely heard nuggets as: “Can’t Get Enough” by Bad Company, Off Broadway’s “Stay in Time” and Thin Lizzy’s “The Cowboy Song”, complete with harmonica and cowboy hat. The harmony guitar solos added a unique and well executed twist; Phil Lynott would be proud.

To those searching Chicago for something a bit different in their live music entertainment experience, Jerry’s Basement is a must see. Look for them to be playing at a venue near you soon, and be sure to make it out regardless of the weather.
