Ok kidlettes,
Since we're starting Literary Thursdays, let's get a volunteer to suggest a book for week one.
We'll all have one week to acquire and read the book, so no War & Peace type epics, please.

16 animadversions:
Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver (might take more than a week tho)
or Hector & the Secrets of Love by by François Lelord (a French bloke)
(-:
ALMOST picked up Hector yesterday--got a Halloween book with a doorbell button for the Bug instead. LOL That counts, right? We read it last night. :-/
Extremely Loud Incredibly Close or however that goes--not a bad read...just made me sad.
And the timing would suck right now...maybe pass on that one....
*sigh* NO help whatsoever, huh? LOL
incredibly loud is so pertinent today, well tomorrow. . .
oh, and ps I've moved. . .
Hmm...ok then. For those of you playing along: This week's book (or would it be next week's book?) is...
Hector & The Secrets of Love by Francois Lelord.
Since she suggested it, she shall lead the discussion.
and it will be her responsibility to provide food and bev., but I'll bring the wine.
can it be next week's please?! I'm not even sure it I can get it on Amazon yet. . . but now I have the incentive to try
and, erm, excuse me but who is she! the cat's mother?
(-;
yeah, I was debating about 'she', since I,LTV suugested it, but EI would be the participant and didn't know who (whom?) to list as the "suggestor" and ended up going with 'she'.
But if the cat's mother would like to participate, she's welcome as well.
you can call me eShucks
but don't tell anyone I said that
or, you could still call me I,LTV or View
I'm not fussy
or you could call me "The Cat's Mother"
if you dared
The Help, Katherine Stockett.
Speaking of the loving Mother of the three pussy cats (but don't ever tell them I said that, I shall go and look for a French Bloke.
This will be fun!!!! Thank you 'Shot : )
Oh! Have I only got till next Thursday to find and read it? It's just that I'm mostly not at home at the moment and - well I'll try.

Since we started late, we'll go to the following Thursday. :)
great - thanks
will give me time to track down the book!
(in the meantime, you might really like to try Babara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer - might be a little girly for you, but it is such a beautiful read!)
oh, and what song are we singing today? there's opera over at my new place if you fancy that!
X
(oh look - it's only half eight your time, I guess I can wait a few hours for the music to start)
(I'll go away now)
ok, it appears that the suggested book isn't out until 2011, making it less than optimal as our first offering.
So we're changing to "Hector and the Search for Happiness: A Novel" by the same bloke.
This works out well as ...The Search for Happiness is the first of the 'series' if indeed a series it is.
"X" <-- I am here.
Bookstore is here --> "Y"
RAWR!
On occasion, it's not optimal living in a bitty town farrrr. MOST times--it's optimal!
I shall endeavour to go from point X to point Y!
Dang....don't get me wrong--I'm still glad I picked up the Halloween book!
Just sayin'......
