oh, I meant to say that my boys actually use "lol" as a word between themselves when they are talking about something that the rest of us would describe as laughter or funny
no, that's not quite right - help! I can't explain it properly. . .
. . .they say, for example, "he did it for the lols" or, even, which seems a little tortological to me, "lots of lols"
. . .and then, when they were xBoxing whilst I was washing-up, I hear Middle One using the term "LOL!!!" as a kind of victory cry. . .
